Abstract

In this paper, I will describe the way my art practice has changed since early 2020 due to integrating my identity using the labels of ‘atheopagan’ and ‘solarpunk.’ I will show examples of my earlier work, in which I found myself reaching for the metaphors of (Christian) religion to convey the sacredness with which I hold the natural world and the process of studying it, and compare those to the atheopagan rituals I have built for myself and others in the last five years.
