Belonging to the Forbidden: Shadow, the Dark Feminine, and the Power of Becoming Whole

This presentation explores belonging as a process of becoming whole through engagement with the forbidden, the shadow, and the Dark Feminine. Drawing from the book Nina: The Forbidden Facet of the Feminine, it argues that dimensions historically excluded from spiritual and academic discourse—such as eros, embodiment, intuition, rage, and pleasure—are essential sources of power for the development of self-awareness and human potential. Rather than viewing the forbidden as a threat to belonging, the presentation reframes it as a catalyst for consciousness. Through engagement with shadow, the Dark Feminine emerges as an integrative force that enables individuals and communities to access suppressed aspects of the self and to inhabit their full range of potentialities.
