The Bright Night of The Soul

Abstract
Artist Talk: This illustrated poetry manuscript is a journey of myself, the artist, into the realms of the abyss, the subconscious. Illustrating the liminal phase of 'the dark night of the soul' through poetry and illustration, the manuscript depicts the different stages of purification and quest to encounter and embrace the wounded soul. Different spiritual practices informed the journey I undertook and influenced the visions and realisations taking place in the body and mind. Sattvic lifestyle, ashtanga yoga practice, vipassana courses, pilgrimages, encounters with entities in the wilderness, kabbalah and Hebrew language teachings, celtic mythology all influenced the landscape of this manuscript.
