Depth Psychological Research as Facilitative of Individuated Belonging

With fieldwork in major Vietnamese enclaves in the U.S. and Đồng Bằng Sông Hồng (northern Việt Nam’s Red River Delta), the Indigenous homeland of the Việt/Kinh people and holy land of the Đạo Mẫu Tứ Phủ Mother-Goddesses spiritual/shamanic tradition, the accent of this paper will be on how a certain manner of conducting depth psychological research may facilitate not only furthering the individuation (Jungian concept of “making whole” psychic life), but may also facilitate the initiation into a spiritual belonging with the whole of the history of a people and their pantheon of deified ancestors.
