Abstract
A multi-modal experience, this event will include offerings of tea, poetry and spiritual storytelling, drawing from philosophy, science, interspecies relationships and the emerging, place-based spirituality of eco-mysticism. A unique glimpse into the art of belonging as practiced in the old, wooded hills of New England, where Ricky Ray spends his days on Addie’s Acres, learning to transform his sense of self and purpose from that of an individual with a personal fate, to that of a living process in which organism becomes continuous with ecosystem, and the lines between woods and man, person and place, begin to blur and move in concert.
Presenter Biography
Ricky Ray is a poet, essayist and eco-mystic who lives with his wife and his old brown dogs in the old green hills of New England. He is the author of four books of poetry and a book of criticism, and he serves on the advisory board at PES.
