Abstract
Workshop: This 60-minute creative and interactive workshop will delve into the intersectional approaches of black queer feminism and creative expressive art therapies as spiritual approaches. This presentation aims to create a space for reflection on tools and strategies that support embodiment, inclusivity and decolonization. Through historical and contemporary insights, practice examples, and interactive techniques, attendees will gain a new perspective on reflection, direct application examples, and resources for further exploration. Sequoya will utilize contemplative and somatic approaches to ground during the workshop, followed by reflection on supportive tools and strategies, and further exploration of the themes through a collective activity.
Presenter Biography
Sequoya is a social worker, yoga therapist, social practice artist and cultural worker. She consults nationally through her business Red Linen Moon Wellness and Consulting. She is the co-host of the Reclaiming Soul Work Podcast, member of the POC Psychedelic Collective, and co-director of the Safer Movements Collective.
