The Fyrthyr: A Multispecies Jurisprudence through Parafictional Art and Sonic Rituals
Publication information:
Abstract
Performance: This presentation explores The Fyrthyr, an innovative artistic practice that intertwines parafictional sculpture and sonic rituals to address the afterlives of colonialism and ecological disruption. Rooted in multispecies jurisprudence, it challenges anthropocentric legal frameworks by recognizing non-human entities as co-governors of our planet. Through the lens of an Afro-Indigenous artist and field cosmologist, the work fosters kinmaking rituals that bridge human and non-human realms, offering pathways to spiritual and ecological healing.
