Listening to Your Muse: J. L. Moreno’s Psychodrama & Creativity

Abstract
Workshop: This interactive workshop will introduce psychodrama as a means of fostering creativity through dialogue with the participant’s Muse. Participants will be introduced to the work of J. L. Moreno (1889-1974), a luminary with a spiritual calling to transform society through the healing potential of theatre. As the father of Psychodrama, Group Therapy and Sociometry his innovative work has an international following and has helped countless people. Participants will have the opportunity to experience Moreno’s work in action as it applies to their own art, in whatever medium they choose to express.
Presenter Biographies
Isabella Christodoulou, graduate of Barnard College, Tulane School of Social Work and Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute is a licensed clinical social worker. She has devoted her career to vulnerable populations in New Orleans, London and New York City. She writes fiction and is a member of New Orleans Playback Theater.
Bart Everson is a Creative Generalist at Xavier University's Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development, a videographer, songwriter, singer, and author of Spinning in Place: A Secular Humanist Embraces the Neo-Pagan Wheel of the Year. He serves on the board of the Gaian Way.
