Nature Joins the Board: A Look at How Can the More than Human Guide Decision-Making

Abstract
This workshop will explore how to incorporate nature or more-than-human representatives onto the boards of companies, academic institutions, nonprofits, and churches. The talk will draw on case studies of those companies and organizations that have successfully integrated nature into their boards and decision-making processes, such as UK company Faith in Nature, and the Gaian Way. After an initial introduction, individuals will work on a proposal to bring to their organizations to incorporate a nature or more-than-human representative to their board.
Presenter Biography
Erik Assadourian is the director of the Gaian Way, an ecospiritual philosophy, community and organization dedicated to healing the relationship between humans and the living Earth they’re part of and utterly dependent on. Erik is also a sustainability researcher and writer and has directed or co-directed seven books, focusing on consumerism, eco-education, global security, and economic degrowth.
