Abstract
Pangrok Sulap is a Sabah-based art collective working with indigenous communities of Borneo and others abroad through collective printmaking and collaboration. We will present on how our work sustains community narratives and culture and opens a space for sharing of spirituality, even as indigenous communities come under pressures of environmental destruction and modernization.
Presenter Biography
Pangrok Sulap, established in 2010 in Ranau, Sabah, is a dynamic art collective comprising artists, curators, writers, researchers, activists, musicians, graphic designers, and entrepreneurs. This diversity enriches their discipline, enabling them to run various activities and programs. Committed to strengthening the community through art, they organize exhibitions, projects, and collaborations to develop social, cultural, economic, and educational sectors.
