This interactive workshop introduces The Pedagogy of Joy, a soul-centered framework for spiritual belonging rooted in Dr. Elijah Nicholas’ book, Joy! A Journey to Choosing, Creating, and Living in Joy. Through storytelling, reflection, and embodied practice, participants will explore how Conscious Love can transform internalized exclusion into radical self-acceptance and communal healing. Designed for those historically marginalized in religious or academic spaces, this session affirms that joy is a birthright, belonging begins within, and love is a sacred discipline. Together, we will practice joy not as performance, but as spiritual resistance and a revolutionary path to collective liberation.
Presenter Biography
Dr. Elijah Nicholas is a Black transgender pastor, veteran, and author of Joy! A Journey to Choosing, Creating, and Living in Joy. As a spiritual thought leader and storyteller, he teaches Conscious Love and Joy as tools for liberation, authenticity, and belonging within marginalized communities and spiritual spaces.
