The Realm of Matriarchal Arts: The Heart and Earth of Resilient Communities

Abstract
A research-based definition of matriarchy delineates social systems artfully structured to nurture life, cultivate peaceful relations, and prevent potential patterns of hierarchy, domination, and abuse. “Matriarchal art,” therefore, implies generative activities, behaviors, and skills that spiritually and practically serve life, local economies, and human self-actualization. To what degree have we been rendered a culture of compliant worker/consumers, subject to manipulations of consensual servitude and brand identification? Can we ourselves, in cooperation and kinship, become artisans of health, harmony, and relational integrity at all levels of social function through a renewed appreciation for matriarchal arts? Could the modern hearth be the re-birthing sanctuary where lineage is remembered, human despair consoled, and a resilient future forged?
