Artist Talk: This proposal explores art as a medium to manifest spirituality and foster human transformation. The exhibition, “Rosary of Victory”, delves into the qualities of victorious souls through abstract geometric patterns and mixed media, transcending cultural boundaries. Created in a meditative state, the art emphasizes the transformative power of one’s elevated stage, as a means to reach one’s true potential amidst unprecedented change. Inspired by the Brahma Kumaris’ teachings, the exhibition and experiential workshop offer tools for shifting consciousness and envisioning personal transformation. This approach underscores how inner victories cultivate purposeful outer success, advancing spiritual and inclusive cultural renewal through the profound medium of art.
Presenter Biography
Monika Kalra is a resident spiritual artist at Peace Village Learning and Retreat Center, New York. A student with the Brahma Kumaris since 2001, her art reflects her meditative experiences, expressed through oil on canvas and digital media. Her latest series “Rosary of Victory” explores the journey and characterics of an inclusive self-transformation. Exhibiting internationally, Monika conducts spiritual retreats for artists to help them cultivate inner authenticity. Monika also serves as a spiritual teacher with The Brahma Kumaris, guiding individuals to use spiritual tools to envision and manifest their future selves. Originally from India, Monika studied and practiced fashion design, founded the artistic fashion brand Monaara in UK.
Abhishek Kalra is a creative technologist and spiritual facilitator, with over two decades of experience in technology consulting and go-to-market. He is constantly seeking ways to synergize worldly and spiritual lives helping individuals live purposefully, grow sustainably, and align external success with inner transformation. Having lived and worked in many countries across the US, Asia, and Europe, he offers a global perspective to his craft. Currently residing at Peace Village, New York, Abhishek facilitates retreats for artists, fostering inner strength and creativity through spiritual practices. He also plays host for the World Meditation Hour series at Peace Village and actively engages as judge / mentor at industry innovation events.
