Sacred Sounds: Exploring the Neurophysiological Impact of Devotional Music Across Generations
Publication information:
Abstract
This study investigates the impact of devotional music on spiritual transcendence in spiritually enriched countries such as India. Music has the power to connect individuals to different realms. Therefore, this study explores whether music infused with devotion and the divine names of the Lord enables individuals to experience prayer fulfilment, universality, and a sense of completeness. We aim to examine these dynamics by comparing instrumental and lyrical music, as well as generational differences in experiencing transcendence. Using electroencephalogram (EEG) technology, we will analyze neurophysiological responses, offering practical implications for incorporating devotional music into spiritual practices.
