Śāstra–Rūpa–Pāññā: Poetry, Image, and the Wisdom of the Inner Child
Publication information:
Abstract
This collaborative artwork invites participants into a shared space of belonging through drawing as a gentle practice of self-witnessing. Guided prompts encourage participants to observe themselves, draw their faces, and reflect on emotions seeking recognition. Drawing is framed not as skill, but as an intimate language of presence. Conceptually rooted in the iconography of a solitary figure beneath a tree, informed by Shaktism traditions of ancient Nusantara, the work unfolds through the triadic lens of Śāstra–Rūpa–Pāññā: poetry as contemplative guidance, image as embodied reflection, and wisdom as self-knowledge. Through pauses, imaginative expansion, and writing to the inner child, participants cultivate non-judgmental awareness and experience belonging as emergence.
