This presentation delves into the intercultural transmission of the Ratu Boko mantra "jah tah kih hum phat" from Sri Lanka to Java and Bali, informed by the profound research of Dr. Andrea Acri. It explores the preservation of this mantra in sacred rites and temple architecture, highlighting its connections to Javanese and Sri Lankan heritage. The presentation also takes you on an adventure to Candi Ratu Boko through mantra and poetry. It examines the mantra's spiritual and cultural significance, offering insights into its role in community healing and spiritual transformation.


Presenter Biographies

Giri Nugraha, a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to humanity, holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences from Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Bali. His research spans reproductive health advocacy and the iconography of women in ancient allegories, highlighting art as a medium for transformation. As Program and Content Manager as well as a Facilitator at ilamaia Bali—a sanctuary for self-transformation grounded in the ancient wisdom traditions of the Nusantara—Giri fuses art, culture, and spirituality to foster transformative connections across cultures.
