Abstract

Performance: A multimedia performance exploring the intersection of music, spirituality, and ecology, focusing on Earth Eclectic, a New Orleans-based radio series which uses diverse musical genres—from sacred music and experimental sound art to contemporary folk and popular music—to foster connection with the "more-than-human world." The performance will trace the series' narrative arc, interweaving storytelling with musical examples and exploring theological and philosophical concepts such as biophilia, deep ecology, and Gaia. The project aims to demonstrate how music can cultivate a deeper connection with Earth and contribute to reconnecting with our sacred relationship to the planet.
