Abstract
Poets, Debrah Morkun and Anne-Adele Wight, have been publishing and performing their work, as well as hosting poetry events in Philadelphia - for decades. Each has nurtured a wider community in poetics. A strain of spirituality and pantheism is a running theme in each woman's work. Debrah Morkun co-hosts Amethyst Gate, a once-monthly series & Anne-Adele Wight was guest host of Moonstone Poetry Series at Fergie's in 2025. Short, documentary films about Morkun and Wight describe their dedication to their craft, their intellectual pursuits and their passion for the poetics community in Philadelphia, New York City and beyond.
Presenter Biography
Elizabeth Kirwin is a poet, fiction writer and filmmaker. She has a M.A. in literature and has published her fiction and poetry widely. Her recent series on Women in Poetics provides insight into the work and communities of poets Anne-Adele Wight and Debrah Morkun.
