Unmasking the Divine: Spiritual Freedom Through Storytelling and Identity
Publication information:
Abstract
Performance: This session explores how storytelling serves as a sacred practice of decolonization, spiritual reclamation, and liberation. Drawing on my lived experience as a Black transgender man and ordained pastor, I share how rejecting traditional religious constraints has enabled me to embrace a Universal Consciousness rooted in authenticity and conscious love. Through personal narratives and reflective engagement, this presentation unearths the divine in marginalized identities and challenges societal norms. Participants will be invited to consider how storytelling can be a tool for spiritual liberation, fostering individual and collective transformation by transcending boundaries between art, identity, and spirituality.
