Abstract

Humans are hard wired for expression in community. This workshop will explore how the dearth of spaces for the universal technologies of rhythm, voice and ceremony has created a keen sense of disconnection for many. Drawing from earth-based traditions, ancient sound and vibrational healing practices, as well as scientific research on the nervous system, trauma and frequency, we will understand and experience participatory ceremonial singing and the profound embodied collective resonance that can be the result. In this embodied presence we create ritual not as a rare event but a vibrant, lived language; where the voice is honored as a tool of healing, truth-telling and belonging.
