Abstract

Book Talk: Based on excerpts and writing prompts from the spiritual memoir The Sacred Shed on the Edge of the Ravine, Writing Your Sacred Story workshop encourages the use of writing as a tool for spiritual inquiry and development. Written responses to the prompts become the building blocks for an individual's own sacred story. The workshop is designed to help participants cultivate a heightened awareness of themselves as spiritually evolving entities in reverent relationship with all of creation.   


Presenter Biography

Barbara R. Bodengraven has been a writer and "human dowsing stick in search of the divine" her entire life. With a BA in English from Boston College and MTS from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Bodengraven enjoyed a varied career as a communications professional and freelance writer for a variety of faith-based institutions and secular media outlets. After retiring, Bodengraven built what she came to realize was a 'sacred shed' and penned her spiritual memoir THE SACRED SHED ON THE EDGE OF THE RAVINE, which became the basis of this workshop.
