Abstract

Abstract: Bart Everson performs a series of songs from a Gaian ritual context, interwoven with personal narrative. This performance will pay tribute to the late theologian Dr. Michael Homan, while exploring themes of "whiteness," indigeneity, and colonialism, and recounting the journey to a devotional religious community of practice with Gaia at the center. Accompanied on guitar by George Cawley.

Presenter bio: Bart Everson is a creative generalist at Xavier University of Louisiana's Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development. He serves on the board of the Gaian Way. He is the author of Spinning in Place: A Secular Humanist Embraces the Neo-Pagan Wheel of the Year.
